I have a mint pickup shell and I fancy turbo power for it but don't fancy cutting the bulkhead. I have found a source of Renault 5 turbos speedways.co.uk but they list six for the R5 !

Which one do I need ? I am going for the Mirage kit.

Any info. on T2 installation would be gratefully received. Cheers.

How about the pickup fule tank ? Is that going to be a problem ?

I'm sure Mirage will be the best people to speak to about the turbo. I hear they are very helpful.

Can't see a problem using the pickup tank.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

all you've got to do is add a return nice and high up the tank.

think mirage do turbos to suit the a-series, not sure whats so special about them but sure they'll help you out. Personally id just choose a water cooled R5GTT turbo that was standard. more than man enough for the job.

Once you ditch that crappy standard carburettor!!!!

I dislike, but have respect for modified 5GT's...

Can get T15's that you amy be interested in, im going to check out stud pattern etc but from what ive found they're based on a T2 so could well be the same. Perfect for a 100bhp road car that you want nice and realiable.

Nothing up with the Renault 5 spec unit, we can supply them. If you can get hold of a good used one at sensible money then even better. We also do a 2 hybrids, 1 for 100-120 bhp another optimised for around 180bhp.

My turbo builders advise me that 16lbs is the max for standard 270 degree thrust bearings. Higher pressures will cause premature wear and failure. Over 16lbs use 360 degree or ball bearing, as these cope much better.

To turbo your pickup would be no harder than any miny. A Bit of work involved, but not beyong any good home mechanic. Give me a call for a chat.

just had a quick look at speedways, you want a tbo214 or tbo235. Dont think there is much to choose from, Im pretty sure it was just a change of oil fittings on the centre housing.
