how is everyone's pump wired up ?
has anyone got any safety measure's wired in such as if it stall's no fuel pump power ?

any better idea's than mine below ?
without an inertia switch

my plan is to wire a relay to the oil pressure switch

so when there is no oil pressure it kill's the pump

and for start up I plan to tap into the starter solonoid wireing with another relay that give's the pump power while the starter is engaged

that's the easyest way I can think of

it will still be kind of tricky but not too bad in my opinion as it's only 2 relay's needed

only problem is see is taht your oil light is usually on for the first few second of startup while oil pressure is reached, therefore, the pump will never pump and the car wont start!

unless theres enough in the float already.... but..

no.

but that's why I plan to put a relay into the starter solinoid wireing
to power the pump whilst starting *wink*
so the second relay only passes power while tthe engine is turning over *wink*
then when oil pressure is obtained the other relay will feed the pump *wink*

haha.. infuriating!

finally got it running and everything (pretty rich, and high idle, but an afternoon with a colourtune should sort that). picks up boost nicely but its a bit smokey.. white smoke though, so im not too worried! should go soon enough though..

most annoying part is that a company whom i trusted to drill out and retap the threads in ym calipers for the bleed nipples did a shoddy job, so i had no brakes! of course, without brakes you dont want to see how fast it goes!!!

got my resits just now anyway, so cant play :(

oh yeah, pump related.. just run a big wire to it, thats what i did!

that's how it is now *wink*
I just think my pump need's to stop
if I do unexpectedly *laughing*

just get one of those things that modern cars have... the things that keep making mpi minis die.. the relay that senses big knocks?

if you find one let me know, i fancy one!

I can't be doing with an inertia switch *wink*
I like my spax firm and it would keep killing the fuel pump on me *laughing*
I'm doing well keeping to 4-8psi for a while *surprised*

Wiring the relay from the oil pressure switch worked OK from the factory for the METRO Turbo!

There will / should always be enough fuel left in the carb to start the car anyway.

Especially if you look after your turbo by allowing it to idle and cool down before switching off *wink*
