Do you guys always renew the input gear outer in the transfer casing when you change the bearing?

What method do you use for getting it out?

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Isnt this the one that you put the transfer case in the oven, give it a sharp tap on the ground and it should fall out.

Thats if im thinking of the right bearing.

A few methods...

Drill a few small holes from the other side, and use a pin punch to drift it out, then fill them with epoxy resin.
Weld something like a nut / bolt to the inside, so you have something to grip...
run a bead of weld around it and use a heel bar to remove it.

I got away with much heat and a puller used as a slide hammer.

Fitting it was fun.... 5 mins at gas mark 9 then the blow torch and it would just about tap in.

Only thing I didnt like was tapping it created a small amount of ally swarf... I hope its going to be ok!!
