I am looking at getting some 18cc Forged Omega pistons, just wondering who uses them and what they think of them.

What kind of spec engine are they running them in?

Thanks very much.
Luke

i think the accralites are a better piston *wink*

But keep in mind that the Accralites have a lower crown height (by approx 3cc) so a nearer equivelent is 15cc Accralites.

If you want Accralites now is the time to order, I have been waiting almost 5 months for mine, but am assured that a run is being made now so I should get them soon.

So compared to cast pistons, how much longer will they last.

Also how long do people expect to use 1 set of pistons for (so long as they dont melt)

1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

Forged pistons do not last as long as cast so i'm lead to believe from what i've read.

They are more resiliant to det but tend to go more out of shape compared to the cast pistons.

End of the day most of us would do a max of 10k without a inspection/rebuild at which point they can be inspected.

Symptoms will show themsleves *happy*

I'm using 18cc forged omegas in my turbo K engine - should be a reasonable test for them

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

I've been using my +20 cast 21253's for the last 3 maybe 4 years now, probably around 35k miles and they're still going strong.

Im sticking with cast hypatecs, the accralite just dont warrant £400 bucks, especially if they dont last as long.
