Ive heard the Montego turbo actuators are set at 7psi. If you can find one mind, possibly a cheaper solution. Im unsure of max boost however.

1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Montego turbo was 10 psi. I had one I flogged to Carl.

8psi one would be fine. I have the standard one bled out to 7.5psi at the moment.

my engine is a non mg metro block with swiftune sw5 cam, austin 1300gt head, centre strapped crank, duplex gears. it should be slightly better then standard mg metro turbo engine, but as its mainly standard parts i was wondering if around 8psi was suitable for this engine?want a nice useable engine, that will travel decent miles without problems (i will maintain properly).hopefully with have slightly more 'go' than a standard turbo engine.

I managed to get 11psi out of my standard metro one but was starting to spike so found another one with a stronger spring. Imo uprated actuators are a waste of money found a couple that can be made to fit for not much money!

diesels are a good source of strong actuators, a standard 1.8 mondeo TD actuator opens at 1 bar for example :)

turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

Cosworths use a T3, and have owners that freqently replace the standard actuator with a super duper one and sell on the standard one *wink*

Sorry to hijack the post (a little) but this was puzzling me recently too. On the standard actuator what is the highest bosst you could achieve using a bleed valve set up? I couldnt work out what the limiting item would be.

I run an 8psi actuator and can get over 20psi using a bleed valve. :)

Careful of the box though. I learnt the hard way. It was great fun while it lasted though.

Not to mention a good excuse to upgrade everything.

just a couple of questions are you using the standard BDD needle or a different one?

What spark plugs? mine currently has BPR6ES plugs in it at the mo but have read i should put cooler ones in.

thanks in advance

IMHO BPR6ES is too cold. BPR7ES or even BPR8ES seems to be the norm here.
