Working up the BHP ladder.

Getting my mini upto 15mph is an ordeal.

Still running the turbo build in at the moment so not too concerned yet as it hasn't been fully set up, but just interested in any comment.

Getting it going quickly from a standing position is a real nightmare. Riding the clutch at 2500-3000 is about the only way i can get it to shoot off the line. Not sure if it is just cos of Turbo lag, a characteristic of the cam, the light flywheel or the ratio of 1st gear? Once its rolling and the turbo kicks in its like being hit by a train so all good there *tongue*

Does anybody else have similar problems?

Cheers

Karl

What cam and rockers are you using?

What turbo?

What ignition system?

Shouldn't be like that then. I was just worried that you had a 296 and 1.5 on as you'd end up with the driving experiance you describe.

I suspect it's all down to fuelling.

Yes i'm sure it's just a tune issue, as by reving it your getting the extra fuel into the engine.

Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

Sorry guys for digging up an old thread.
After having my car set up on the rollers two weeks ago I haven't used the car until today and it drives like a bag of crap.
After the set up it was awesome but today I'm getting all the pulling away problems in this thread.
Also when at full throttle it keeps popping through the inlet and to go past 50mph i have to keep blipping the gas pedal to build up momentum.
I haven't messed around with anything but I did check the ignition timing and it was really advanced at 1000rpm vac disconnected, around 12btdc. *oh well*
I thought that I could be ruuning to much boost as I'm using a cosworth actuator but I ain't pushed it hard enough for it to go past 15psi.
Since it's rebuild over christmas it's covered around 100miles.
I did put fresh fuel in today but it did'nt help.
I'm getting fed up messing around with it now. :(
