Wrong gasket between carb and plenum???..will have a hole to pressurize float chamber. If not it will not come on boost as the fuel supply cuts out??..maybe??

i had the same kind of problem, mine would tick over fine and rev well, but would only pull untill it was due to come on boost. sorted it out using daves t piece method.
