As above really, what is the fireing of the coil pack looking at it as if the connector was pointing to the floor and going clockwise. thanks

erm the firing is the same as a mini 1342.

the coil only fires when the ecu tells it to i take it you are using MJ? the coiols should be lablled 1 to 4

There is no "order" - 1 and 4 fire together as do 2 and 3.

Viewed from above, LV connector at the bottom, 1 and 4 are on the left, 2 and 3 on the right.

So long as your input wires are matched (left for 1/4, right for 2/3) you don't have to worry about 1342.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

Its a wasted spark, it fires 2 at a time.

so put 1 and 4 on left side 3 and 2 on the right side. connector towards you. I dont think it matters but mine goes clockwise from the connector

4 ------- 3

1 ------- 2

Connector

hmmm. this might sound a bit wierd right, but i couldnt get mine to work like that. so, for a head scratching moment i put number 1 coil lead to plug number 1, number 2 to plug 2, 3 to 3 and 4 to 4. i couldnt figure out how the feck it runs, but it does!

yeah thats right stu. if you look at the coil you will see that 1 and 4 and 2 and 3 are together in pairs.

But sometimes people get the wiring wrong in the input plug and end up swapping the plug wires left to right to make it run.

Yes that happened to me, even though I still had the wire tails on the EDIS and coil pack to match the colours up correctly. Still must have got it wrong!

sorry to revive this thread but to confirm,

i am using MJ L JR. with a ford coil pack and edis unit..

the coil is labelled 1 to 4.

so would i be correct in thinking i put 1 to 1, 2 to 2, 3 to 3, 4 to 4?

In the garage......again!!

yep that right johnny, if no 1 is on a firing stroke it will fire no 1 and no4 but cylinder 4 is on an exhaust stroke so hence the wasted spark...........unless it can be used as some form of anti lag system to keep the turbo spooling?

Just a tip that Rod gave me when I was struggling with MJ. If you are testing for a spark, using one plug lead and a plug lying on the head, you wont get one !. You need to have at least two plugs from the same side of the coil pack connected. I made a little alloy plate and screwed 4 spare plugs into it and earthed that to the block so that you could see all four firing.
