There is no "order" - 1 and 4 fire together as do 2 and 3.

hmmm. this might sound a bit wierd right, but i couldnt get mine to work like that. so, for a head scratching moment i put number 1 coil lead to plug number 1, number 2 to plug 2, 3 to 3 and 4 to 4. i couldnt figure out how the feck it runs, but it does! balls to the blower!!!

Yes that happened to me, even though I still had the wire tails on the EDIS and coil pack to match the colours up correctly. Still must have got it wrong! On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

yep that right johnny, if no 1 is on a firing stroke it will fire no 1 and no4 but cylinder 4 is on an exhaust stroke so hence the wasted spark...........unless it can be used as some form of anti lag system to keep the turbo spooling? 133.5 bhp 123 lb torque 116mph @6640rpm 9.5psi

Just a tip that Rod gave me when I was struggling with MJ. If you are testing for a spark, using one plug lead and a plug lying on the head, you wont get one !. You need to have at least two plugs from the same side of the coil pack connected. I made a little alloy plate and screwed 4 spare plugs into it and earthed that to the block so that you could see all four firing. |
