Hi,

anyone used it on his engine?
It seems to me that it gives a cleaner look in the engine bay:)
But is it any good?

there is nothing wrong with a A-series that a turbo can't fix.

I have used them and find them good. Although if you use a bypass hose things get a little tight. Don't get in the way as much though.

Their design flaw is that the bolts are only in single shear but if your standard steady is good this shouldn't be a concern.

If you buy one I suggest adding a little bit of mig to where the captive nut is on the water pump bracket - one of mine came free very easily.

Also available from Avonbar (in fact I think they are an Avonbar product).

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

What if it moves though?
Won't it ruin the waterpump seal and result in a leak?
Or does it fit on the outside?

The one in the picture is adjustable too isn't it?
It goes on the outside of the water pump using two of the pump bolts. The plate is quite thick (6mm) so if the the beginning of the threaded holes for these bolts is a bit suspect it is also worth trying to source some slightly longer.

i looked again and youre right.
I don't believe it will any different , Avonbar or W&P.

But i like the idea of it being adjustable. I'm going the Mirage route and some extra space is always good:)

You need the steady on the clutch side to be adjustable too though, the bottom one on the gearbox is slotted so that should be OK.

@ El potter: a cleaner looking engine bay and no drilling in the bulkhead *happy*

Looking at the avonbar site i see that the one pictured above is part number ABR024
Is the one on the clutch side part number ABR024/A??? i think. :-

There's no picture and i'm not 100% sure......
