There is a guy on another forum I use, who runs a company with a Water Jet machine.

Can cut any material, up to a whopping 200mm thick !!!!!!!!

Although obviously the cut isnt perfect at this. He is based in the southwest of England.

Quoting him from another forum.

a couple examples of waterjet cutting, first one was a cable-hydrolic clutch convertion, and you can see 100mm stainless steel offcuts being used a weights to hold it still.

and also my old 1400 cylinderhead i cut in half, and my current bottom suspension mounts from 6mm stainless

Just in case this might be a service of interest to anyone :)

If anyone needs, I can link him this thread, or pass on details. He seems to be a car nut too, so hopefully will go easy on people :)

I'm lucky, I have a place which does water jet cutting, another which does cnc machining and two places which do laser cutting all walking distance from home.

I know Ralph from the mine exploring bunch I hang out with. He's based in the W of Cornwall. Sort of Redruth area. If I remember rightly, he has a metro with a silly engine. Good bloke, but get your orders in quick as he is probably going to kill himself abseiling down huge mineshafts on suspect equipment. I can vouch for him being up to hear from you. When I see him, I'll get him to register and post.

Bugger off, I'm getting there.

This guys name is Ralph....he his a newbie over on the V8Forum.

He seems to be on a mad notion of fitting a Rover V8, to a PG1 ( Rover ) fwd gearbox !!!!!

Not quite sure what his plans are !

Sounds like it could be the same guy.

In the early 90's, there used to be a bell housing kit so you could fit the renault box. think it was the 25 V6 one.

Never seen water cutting. Must be cheaper than lasering.
