it suprise's most people *wink*
I have'nt realy booted it since fitting that engine *blush*
yet the old engine I hammered everywhere on at least 12psi *laughing*
I have only had a few race's as such *wink*
most people bottle it when they hear me change gear *frown*
I have terrorised a few mini beamer's in it *laughing*
but never had one try and race me *frown*
yet I realy realy need to race one with it *laughing*
that wheel has took me 25-30 hour's so far *surprised*
only another 3 to go *laughing*

Oh and I struggle to get passenger's in it *laughing*
most people will only come in it once *frown*
if I promise not to boot it *wink*
but of course I alway's do boot it if a big deal is made about it *laughing*

I'm in Leicester
brake's now that's the scary part *laughing*
84 solid disc's with black stuff pad's and braided hose's
but it need's 4 pot's badly *blush*
I have to brake much earlier than I would like *frown*

it's comeing back off the road for a while for me to sort it out properly soon
then I have to choose a colour for it *blush*
it might end up vermillion red *wink*
but it's purple everywhere so if it goe's vermillion I will paint the inside satin black I think *wink*

I adore that car!!

How did you fit the dump valve? Do you have to weld a collar on to the plenum chamber or is there an easier way to do it?

there is a pipe welded onto the plenium for the dump valve
I never did it though
I'm planning on fitting a Saab re-circulateing dump valve to quiten it down *wink*
it's too damn noisey for me with the dump valve *wink*
maybe I'm getting old afterall I'm 29 soon *laughing*

It looks like a really neat job, how much of the work did you do yourself?

it had a high compression lump with all the turbo stuff on when I brought it
but that did'nt last too long before it devolped a slight knock
so I sourced the proper mg turbo bottom end and slapped it in

it's pretty quick it can keep with golf gti 16valve's with no hassle
but that said my mate in the 16valve rekon's we was at 110-115 I doubt it in all honesty more like 90-95 but with no speedo it's not easy for me to guess

but I doubt it would touch you guy's with either big wallets or big overdrafts though

You were really lucky to buy that! You can see the previous owner put a lot of thought and work into the intercooler etc. It really is very neat. Why did he sell it??

I bet he was reall pi$$ed off to lose this, I think I'd feel a little guilty, although you didn't do anything wrong, the previous owner had his pride and joy snatched from him. What did the previous owner say?

well I did give the oppuntunity to have it back for what it cost me
eventhough I had to scrap a shell that I'd done all the welding on to save it
but after what I consider more than a reasonable amount of time MY money was still tied up in it and it was still outside my front door
I then decided enough is enough
then I left it untouched for a further 3 month's due to commitment's
then one day decided feck and booked it in for an mot
and spent the following week sorting load's of fault's out ready for a test
I did feel guilty but everyone I know and spoke to said I should have told him to feck off from day one
and the fact the car had been stood abandoned at the side of the road for the best part of a year judgeing by the state of the front disc's !
if he cared so much he should have dealt with it in my opinion !
I have had lot's of council notice's on my project's but they never got to tow them away as I alway's moved them as soon as the notice was served *wink*
