Calling the body guys!Panel Beaters and Sprayers

Starting thinking seriously about making the break and moving back to Bonnie Scotland,where I was born.
Obviously this will take years to realize and plenty of money but thought I'd start doing some research.

What are the wages like for Panel Beaters/Sprayers over there?And whats the work like? Do you need lots of certificates and shit or will experience be enough?
Also is there any future in being self employed,doing the above? Or maybe even restoration at a pinch?

If you could convert wages into €uros for me so I can make a direct comparison,I'd be very grateful.

Thing is, the current exchange rate is about 15% lower than it has been for a long time so will look the wages look lower than they are to be honest.

don't know what the going rate is for a panel beater in scotland right now but I do know there is always a demand for good small specialists around here

Do a job search on British sites to get a feel for wages.
Plus as with most trades, the odd cash-in-hand jobs to.

Steve,there is absolutely no fucking way I'm not at least gonna try to make the break.
This place is a dead end,no two ways about it.
Sure the weather is a bit better than over there,but the shit roads,massive taxes,crap wages and general sky-high price of living really put paid to that.
Besides,the USA,Oz and NZ are rather too much for me as I've never been to either and do not know anyone already living there.And getting in isn't easy either.

So as far as I can see it's gotta be Scotland.

there is a big call for decent panel beaters and sprayers in oz, half of oz is scottish anyhow and you would easily make mates there, seriously look into it! im originally from pitlochry but live in bristol and work at airbus, id love to go back up north but theres feck all jobs unless i got back to farming!! fook that!
Im considering going to OZ or Canada as this country has gone to shit!
