Yo,

Just thought I'd add a thread about my Cobra, since I'm still finding it hard to get motivated with the cars, and having a to-do list on the mini helped me get focused.

So, this is the Cobra's thread.

You can see the car's page here:
http://www.turbominis.co.uk/car/2/

Robert came down on Thursday and spent the day making the car able to idle, and run a bit - good enough to get me to an MOT station anyway.

Here's a very bad quality video of it:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=o9yHxRQaSdQ

And here's the to-do list.

PRE MOT:
Fit new throttle cable
Fit choke cable
Fit flasher unit to Indicators
Secure Two switches in dash (Lights and wipers)
Fix door latches
Horn
Re-align Wipers and make squirters work
Number plate light
Fit drivers mirror (not needed for MOT)
Wire up new speedo
Wire up Speed Sensor

POST MOT:
Tighten Engine Belts
Change / Alter dashboard (too low on drivers side)
Tune carbs on Rolling Road (Robert!)
Raise engine by 1" (sump is awfully low!)
Repair dodgy fuel pump wiring.
Fit side window thingies

Think that's everything.. for now.

Any advice on how to put a flasher unit into the indicator wiring would be dead helpful - they currently go on constantly.

Ta, and sorry if it's of no interest!

Some rough idea of how the indicators are wired would help, but you _should_ be able to just put a normal mini type flasher unit in line with the feed to the indicator switch.

I'll have a poke around and see how it's set up.
I think you're right, though.

RV8 on twin SU's at the moment.

Swapped it for my Chimaera. Got it cheap as it wasn't registered with the DVLA properly and isn't finished.

my mate had one of these, think his was the pilgrim kit (the one that got banned apparently being too close a copy to the original)

he had a whack 2lt pinto lump in it which was a shame, (but hey for a 17 year old who cares...luck twat that he was) it was midnight blue with 5 spoke revos on but it always got the attention.

Looking Good.

I built this 15 years ago:

350 Chevy, 300HP+.

Sold it to set up my business. It has recently been restored by the current owner. Might try to buy it back someday.

Well, if your motivation is your wallet, then I will own up to the fact that once it was built, I found very little use for it with three young kids in tow!
