Odd question, but there's so many people on here I thought it might be worth asking :)

Looking at Austria or Switzerland, or maybe northern Italy for a holiday but would like to head somewhere that's toddler friendly. Open to any suggestions, only thing is we don't do camping.

Also, has anyone gone skiing with young kids? Can anyone recommend a kid friendly resort?

Thanks

Stayed at a Eurocamp in Austria last year, had a static caravan rather than tent though. The site name was Natterer See near Innsbruck, it was very good but I must say we went at the end of the season so it wasn't as busy as it had been (and all the better for it!). The children had a great time but they are probably older than yours at 5 & 7 so we did some walking and going up mountains in cable cars etc. which the kids enjoyed. We even ended up buying them some walking boots and poles they liked it so much. The site had a playground, swimming in the lake (a bit cold but fun), restaurant and shop. We also hired a car so visited Salzburg and the surrounding area. Breakfast at the Olympic Ski Jump was interesting as they practice all year round.

You really need to try camping in Europe - it's not like the Uk at all. Try Eurocamp for starters as suggested above.

We have camped in France most years in the last 15 since the kids were tiny. They loved it.

european camp sites are far better than most you will get here. Weve driven round france a few years ago with the intention that we would stay in hotels but the wife was happy enough to stay on the camp sites in the end.

Drove over again last year and ended up in Croatia - slight detour as we were heading for Spain!!
