OK - I'm sure this has 'sort' of been covered before but...

New pre verto clutch and gearbox fitted, engine running sweet as a nut but cannot get the clutch adjustment set up right. Throw out stop adjusted as per Haynes.

Can someone give me a pointer or two? Gears can all be selected without clutch and with engine off.

Start engine, depress clutch and clutch wont allow gear selection, I get that horrible scrunching noise as if I dont have the clucth pedal depressed fully. Is it down to throw out stop and clutch adjustment or something more sinister?

Any ideas?

Clutch was assembled as per Haynes so clucth should be on OK. Its new and uprated, lightned back plate (cut back lugs as turbo dave mod) grey diagrapham and racing plate. Which 'big nut' do you refer to Nic?

I've got gears now and can get the car to travel - it was adjustment on arm and throw out stop but... Lesson learnt when in nuetral there is a loud rattle from wok - whats the betting on clutch release bearing failure? The ONLY part I didnt replace!!

do you have straight cut drop gears?
these rattle like sin on idle, should go when you put your foot on the clutch

i think that big nut is otherwise known as the throw out stop (i couoldnt remember the name of it)

IF you have the adjustment john, so the large nut on the clutch housing is not impeding the full through of the the arm
and you get all the gears as said by Nic and all works OK!
then its the drops on idle buddy,

they are very loude especially when the oils hot *wink*
depress the clutch and the noise goes .. right ? .......... thats it buddy YOU have a RACE MOTOR please make sure the ignition and fueling are correct john for THE BOOST YOU WANT...... then go kill some chavs *laughing* be carefull PLEASE!
....LMAO *laughing**laughing**laughing**laughing**laughing**laughing**laughing**laughing**laughing**laughing*
