The question you have to ask is why a perfectly adequate standard rod bolt failed in a standard engine. How many standard engines with standard bolts have failed like this over the 50 years of the A series?

I bought the engine off a friend and i think that it has been rebuild at some point. it was still a 1275 and hadn't been rebored at all. i ran it as it was. the only thing i added was a stage one kit and super 2 core rad. it was set up on a rolling road and produced 81bhp, which isn't bad at all! Still i had a lot of fun with it and dont regret it at all. like others have said, if your going to blow and engine you may as well do it properly!
