Heres some quick snaps of my car. This has had recent restoration....

New front end, which is a steel flipfront.
New A panels, door post, hinge panel, inner flitch panel
New scuttle corners and undersides
New door steps
New boot floor repair

Then it was stripped and painted. Its a metallic cadbury blue with some VIP pheonix on black items such as roof, rollcage, dash etc. The VIP paint was expensive, but looks top.

Alot of time and money as gone into it recently. Things like replacing the full loom for a new one, which we then run inside the car to keep the bulkhead clear.

I hope you like it, its nearly there now. Just needs the new engine in and the boot lid finishing. Got a mk1 fibreglass boot lid and all new swinging no.plate housing etc.

Looks good, I painted my old Clubby estate blue with a black roof, I've always liked that colour combo.

Love it, very nice looking car. Not keen on the roof though. My old rosso red mini had a metalflake roof an I was never keen on it. The paint job was a favour, and the roof was a 'suprise'... Needless to say, I was suprised. lol.

Its not metal flake as in the stuff you add to laquer. Its an actual liquid paint which you spray over the base coat. Its a MIPA VIP paint. I like it, its different so im happy.

Speaking of happy, the new engine is finished, all bar the trigger wheel.

1312 block with morspeed pistons 13cc dish

Rebuilt carb with avonbar needle valve for high boost
Rebuilt turbo by avonbar
HC Turbo Oil pump
Bottom end fully rebuilt with shells etc
Going to run a RS Turbo intercooler

the engine looks awesome, i like the black gearbox casing. i wonder how long it all stays clean! Looks a lot neater without the dissy up front! i think i'm going to go for a megajolt setup when i get mine going.

Red is worth at least another 20bhp Expect the torque to rise accordingly.

I painted mine black for the stealth look, but it's actually red underneath, retaining the power gains.

Jesus Nic! You'll be using just two wheel nuts per corner soon to cut weight!

Bit of an update for you.

Engine is in the car, megajolt is wired in, with a map loaded and it runs. Had to make some adjustments, grind some brackets, fit a roller bearing to stop the fan belt rubbing but we are getting there. Oil pressure is good, sounds good, no knocks or rattles or bangs.....yet lol. New maniflow turbo exhaust system fitted.

Just need to plumb in the DV and intercooler setup next and refit my dashboard with the guages wired up.

Good use of the bearing i ended up re drilling my SC bracket so i couuld stop the belt rubbing, i also modified it to take the larger VR sensor. Wish i had made my own after that!

Yeah, re drilling lower down was also an option.but after shelling out the £100+ for the kit i ws disappointed it didnt fit out of the box. For the time it took to get here.....Ordered tuesday, rung the following monday and told it was going to be dispatched then.....nothing by thursday so i ring again, the women told me it had not even been sent yet. Customer service was poor, product was poor for the price and that he said its a bolt on kit. Which they dont supply the bolts for.

Eeee well,nevermind.

Bearing was coppers really, so its worth ago.Dont know how it will cope with the RPM's but aslong as the belt keeps rolling im happy for now.
