I'm trying to remove the final drive of an old box and I can't seem to be able to select two gear at the same time.

You need to twist the interlock spool and selector shaft so that the selectors can move independantly. Saul Bellow - "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep."

Thanks Paul, I thought it was something like that, do I need to remove anything to allow me to rotate the interlock spool further than normal? Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

If you have the diff out and the ball and spring out, it should twist OK. Saul Bellow - "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep."
