is a flywheel washer definately needed on a pre verto clutch??? in my other post regarding obtaining a washer,one reply stated that they shouldnt be used as they soften and cause the bolt to come loose...as this is a major part of engine build,i dont want to mess it up. |

I used to use them, but now use loctite and locking wire.

Doesnt the loctite effect the torque down figure?

Any lubrication on threads changes the torque figure...

Ever measured the 'release' torque of a flywheel bolt that's been sat under a locktab? It's usually between 60 and 100 lb ft...

i did the clutch in the van, fook me thats tricky with having a fixed grill, infact anything is, even stupid things like getting dizzy's alternators and starters out takes 10 times as long!
