IHI TURBO
• Turbo spec: VR-5-M
• Serial number: RHB6 049164
GOOD?
Does anyone use this turbo, what do they think? What is it from does it have carbon seals etc. Just toying with which turbo to use, and have come accross this one, problem is not a whole not of info available on it.

IHI information availability is very poor. Id expect the RHB6 to bit on the big side. I sold my RHB5 last year. they are nice compact turbos :)

haven't heard many good things about the RHB5 the 6 is said to be more superior? but that about all i know.

The 5 is just a smaller 6, not much different and many a subaru uses them cant see why it would be any worse?

Maybe you are being confused with the RHB series and the RHF series, The RHF series has a roller bearing rather than the RHB plain bearing.

I guess it depends on what context you are takling about. As In if you were talking about an engine that an RHB6 was more suited than a 5 then it would be considered better.
