I'm putting together the final specs of a 1380 s/charged engine and have come across the old favorite of the 1275 crank damper. Im sure this has been covered before, maybe im imagining things as i cant find it.

Has anyone had any experiance running a 1275 with a lightened (wedged) crank on the road before? For all the stuff i've heard about it being a necessity, i've never seen an actual failure before which has been attributed to not having a crank damper.

Reason im asking is that its gonne be a biatch to fit one with the charger pulley aswell!

Probs looking to potentially run upto 7,000rpm although will probs peg this back on the road.

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

i would not run without one

7000 rpm is al lot of RPM the damper damps the harmonics out at certain rpms
you need all the rotating assembley balancing as well andy

my damper has grooves machined in it for the charger belt - the guy that made my mounting kit said it should be fine removing the small amount of metal to make the 4 grooves as they ar a bit overkill in weight anyway
