Ive been looking at a novel thing for my mini and a set of intercom headsets came up *laughing*. I won the item and now about to pay.

The seller however wants me to pay via either postal order or cheque. I asked whether they had paypal but the reply was no.

Ive noticed though on the items that the seller has purchased and sold, all were done via paypal. Should i avoid and take the bad feedback?

I aint keen on sending cheques to people i dont know.

It might be innocent, maybe they've been scammed before and had no help from Paypal? Is their feedback 100%?

From your link, he/she has only sold three things and only one of them is recent enough to see that he/she accepted PayPal at that time.
Anyone can buy with PayPal and pay absolutely nothing even if you use a credit card to fund the purchase but accepting PayPal as a seller, UNLESS it's very small amounts per month (currently 2 credit card transactions and £250), forces you to change the status of your PayPal account to one that costs a lot of money...
Maybe he/she has just found that out.
His/her feedback suggests they are very new to the game, especially selling...

I sold my phone on ebay, i have 100% feedback, it went for £96.

The buyer complained said they wanted a refund and they said they have a right to return it if they dont want it.
I found out that wasnt true, and so i ignored paypal. Paypal gave them a refund and my account went £96 overdrawn.

Ive contacted paypal twice now and they said its my fault and i should contact the buyer to try get my phone back.

I replied, telling them its their silly mistake, and they should get the phone back. Im expecting a court letter or something, but until then theres no way im paying £96 into my paypal like theyre asking me to!

To be fair...Paypal is handy for buying things.

But IMO, its a pain in the arse to get cash back off them when selling.

Paypals reputation is hardly squeaky clean, so there is no way in hell Im giving them my bank details, in order for them to credit my account. Just in case they throw a wobbler some day, and decide do take money from it instead.

At least with a credit card, the credit card company will offer you some protection of they take money from it without permission.

So while I would happily buy via Paypal...when selling, I would try and avoid it.

personnally i would rather post a cheque or postal order, because at least you know where they live in the event of anything going wrong

i bought some games for my boy a few months back sent a cheque as the seller didnt want me to collect any how, it cleared,waited..
no contact,
any way i just went direct to the BAC's house and got the games in the end,
luckily they wernt too far away.
so now when i send a cheque i make a note saying if i dont recive items i WILL come and get them with my gang...

good man, this i highly illegal, but i ofrged a letter from the courts (was in court at the time so scanned the letter heads) saying they had 7 working days to send the item or face trial.

17" LCD moniter turned up 4 days later :)
