I'm looking into putting some double doors on one of my old barns and installing some form of lift, mainly for working on Minis.

I do not have enough room for a four post lift and anyway, I'm not sure that access would be very good. You still need to lift a wheel once the car is in the air.

I've seen some two post lifts on ebay, but I've always felt that it would be difficult to get the arms to lift at the subframe.

I've seen too many Mini floors damaged by lifting in the wrong place.

Has anyone had experience of two post lifts on Minis or can suggest an alternative.

Ive tried my mini on our 2 post ramp but i never lifted mine on the subframe but on the shells jacking points (yes they caved in a bit DOH)

I remember jimbo mentioned a 3 post ramp a couple of months ago.

Especially when you get to my age.

I'm spending too much time laying on the garage floor, or the drive like earlier today.

Are you offering to come and lift my Mini whilst I weld on a new sill?

I believe you can get bigger lifting pad bits. If you could get some bigger ones, then the weight would be spread across and it wouldn't dent the floor etc.

i have lifted my mini up on thoes tyles as i have them at work many a time, you can get them on the subframes and jacking points fairly easaly somtimes you have to roll the car forwards and backwards to the arms under though never had a problem
