Couple more probs that i need to sort, then i can go have it tunned. Temostat i have is a 88 and i have drilled four holes in it 6'5mm. I no people have done this with the 82 so is this a reason getting to hot?

I have also mounted a second fan. I have the normal mini 4 core rad and my mini used to be an SPI, so have a hole for a second fan in the inner wing. I was wondering if the fan should be blowing air in or sucking air away?

cheers peoples help!!

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

88c stat is way OTT for a tuned engine

use a 74deg stat available from minispares north use 6 x 5mm holes
and no its not you problem with the holes
correct temp for max power ... 74deg stat

the fan should be dumping air OUT of the inner wing
have you got the fan mounted the right way around ?

I thought it would be getting to hot cos the waters circling to fast and not having a chance to cool wouldn't thatbe incrested with a low one?

I use a 72deg stat.
Using a lower deg thermostat is beter than the higher 88deg that you are currently using because it opens earlier, cause of this the temperature is lower and if your cooling system is upto it... it can keep the engine at a lower temperature.

I have just changed from a 88deg to a 74deg and the difference is massive. I struggled with overheating using the 88deg. I have a side mounted MS large 2 core rad and just running an electric fan (ditched the original fan).
