These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

the only reason im against them is that i spoke to stuart wright witht the blue turbo mini and he said they lasted about 250 miles and the other worry is that its a vauxhall powered mini im building with throttle bodies and other toys so i was just concerned about the extra weight

if it is lighter it dont seem like it trying to lift it i was just worried about the weight and the torque last thing i want to do is risk injuring myself

to be fair, all stu's car does is track days and drag racing. its not suprising they dont last long!

i've been told around 3k for a road car.

pretty similar, but my Yoko 12" A048's have covered 2000 miles of not very sympathetic road use and the fronts are only just starting to wear really.

leeds/wakefield.

there is no hard and fast rule on using tubes, mymain reason for using them was that i found it difficult to find as fitter who would tough my wheels, being spangly shiney, so i would fit tubes myself which allowed me to build the wheel up myself with tube in place,

i just this weekend spoke to a young fella who has a set of my wheels, using tubes, and circa 20k miles on them, 7.25x10s and i 165 ,008s.

i seem to be lucky then the fitting of the tyres to the wheels was no problem and there was no damage its just when you look at it there is a scary amount of stretch on the sidewalls to get them to the edge of the wheel and there is no gain as the tread width isnt any wider im just worried as on trackdays its going to get a fair bit of abuse and i just dont fancy risking it, and the guy who races sevens and is building the car was a bit dubious and reckoned i should go for a 10x6
