From what I know about the drivetrain in the Veyron - the engine is definately more than 1001hp - just as the same way as the Skylines are only 268hp or whatever they're advertised as. On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

sposidly it has near on 3000hp, 1000 lost through heat and 600 through the drivetrain but i cant really belive its that bit a figure maybe 2000ish mark, they are an awsome peice of machinery. 12 mins to waist a tank of fuel... its got to be good :) Drives
