i found Mikeanics in Congleton, supposed to be very good, but the chap said i couldn't watch him put it on the rollers, and do it. I'm not liking this for a couple of reasons. He could say he's had it on longer and i like to see people are doing. Is this the same everywhere or is this dodge thoughts be great cheers.

i think he has to do it with the door shut because of noise complaints. i left mine with him and came back at dinner time. he charged me 140 quid i think and to be honest i were very pleased with the job.

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

Ive watched mine on there a couple of times but i had to stand in the workshop and look through the door for safety reasons.

As I see it you've two options, either do sa he asks, or vote with your feet and go elsewhere.

Its up to you to set a rev limit and boost level, if it goes pop on the rollers its not down to them its down to you, so be careful!

TBH i left it all up to mike and he did a top job, imo. not sure about who set the rev limit hmmm must have been him i think but he defo set the psi.

what YOU DO need to make sure is that your car is ready for the rolling road otherwise youll have to pay/visit him at least twice.

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

Rev limit depends on what has been done to the bottom end, no point revving it that hard, 6500rpm probably adequate, but final decision is up to you, I won't be held responsible if it throws a rod at that.

Boost level depends mainly on compression ratio and piston type.

or is it best to set it on 10psi and then turn it up on the boost control when you need it. Or when its been set if i try turn it up will it be over boosting then??

You need to get it set up for the maximum boost you are going to use. Then if you run lower boost at times it will overfuel slightly, but this is better than it underfuelling.

What is the engine spec? clutch, gear box, drop gears.

This will determine what you throw at it.

imo this CANT be answered every set up is different, by the sounds of it your engine should take it, BUT if there is any probs i.e fueling issues etc then only 10psi may be possible

just tell mike your spec and say you want as much power as you can safely have and he will decide how much boost to run, thats what i did and it was fine.

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.
