I think I need this when I am finished, at what kind of costs do I have to think, do I need to make an appointment? do they have some needles etc. on stock?
I know that we have RR only limited in holland, and prob. no one has ever seen or done a turbo a-series.

Appointment is needed at most if not all, usually about ?40-50 an hour. An hour should about see you right.

Good ones will have all the bits you need, i.e. needles and springs to get it spot on. others will just be a quick turn of the mixture screw and dizzy and then send you on your way with a pretty graph.

In my opinion a decent "SU" friendly rolling road tuner will taylor your existing needle if poss. Lets face did "skinners Union" ever produce a needle for an A series engine running 25 psi with all the bits?...no!....

I understand not everyone wants to run silly power but come on, we do this turbo thing for more poke!, so why not have a little more?

Mine is not going to be tickled to the end, I want it to be fairly reliable and drive it daily.
Looking now at about 7-10 psi boost, we will see.

Should be ok with a fettled std needle

Arno - get hold of a 'lambda meter' so you can confirm the mixture is resonably good.
As far as ignition goes the following will get you something like right.

1) get engine up to temperature.
2) disconnect the vac advance and plug the hole at the manifold to stop the air leak.
3) put your strobe on the #1 lead.
4) Raise the RPM to 5000 rpm (at this point you should be well on the second stage advance with stock springs)
5) Swing the dizzy until you're seeing 25 degrees advance.

You might get more advance (and more power) than that - but 25 degrees is safe.

Jukka is one of the best guys around when it comes to Dizzy's and SU's... He knows a lot more than i do, and he is always willing to advise others.
Hopefully he'll post a response - or mail him directly! I'd certainly be interested to see what his thoughts are...

Shame they dont run avon park type events more often. Much better than a mini show!

well there is no reason why you can't run your own 'meet' at Pod or somewhere....

Thats a good point mate, lot of organising though!

Was thinking of seeing if a few people would be up for a Pod visit one weekend as ill be going when the cars on the road in the next month or so.
