Its worth what you are willing to pay for it, if it is in good condition etc. hasnt it been on ebay before though?

If that is the engine I think it is, it's definitely worth it. I guess Carl can elaborate.

The should of removed that storage box off the bonnet before taking the pics-it might scratch the paint

yes that is one of those engines Vegard!

If Carling made Mini engines

Yup. I saw in on the bench in his garage when my friend Petter bought his Marcos.

yes it was one of Ians engines - though I'm sure he used squeeze with it as well. If you are serious give Stuart at Vmax a call as he built the motor and can give a cost to replicate it!

Jordan - yes this engine is one of 2 from that very car in its very final incarnation, it only ran a couple of times that final year before Ian went off and did somethig else - real shame as the Ian/John/ Carl trio were (are ) great to watch. What happended to the shell Carl?

All the normal as per an n/a really, noises, rattles, leaks, temperatures oil pressures etc The important thing to watch is how the owner treats the car if you test drive/ sit in it, ie rags the arse off it from cold and wheel spins everywhere -walk away!

right, ive posted on this before.

This is the rear engine from ministorm 2 ian johnstons car

I have the front engine and with the car its certainly worth the money, IF the engine is of the original spec.

For some reason its down on power, I believe its been rebuilt since ian sold it. but as I have the twin engine which I was told had a slighty higher output, its strange that i've dynoe'd close to 150 on slarks rollers (renouned to not over read). So has the spec changed.

If not its had a lot of money spent on it

eaton with ohc pulleys + manifolds + 45dcoe
29cc head from vmax
full roller rockers
forged omegas
centre straped
adjustable verniers
distributer weighted for correct curve
4 core rad
steel flywheel + backplate
Paddle clutch
Straight cut + drops
And the lsd.

My first ever run at avon was against ian johnson in the twin supercharged beast, i left him at the start and as i selected 3rd i thought "jesus this thing must be quick on 16psi"
Then all of a sudden he went tearing past me like i was in reverse
