Another MED head - Another worthless piece of cast iron Scrap.

The head made it around the block once and to the MOT station and half way back.......

In the chamber of cylinder 3 it has blown through into the water jacket......

I have had the head checked out - Bad manufacturing is the most popular opinion - They took it just too close the the water jacket.

Oh well, up to leister on my day off this week then......

Don't take any shite from the bloke, stand your ground and get a replacement, my head off him was'nt purfect from him and he did'nt want to know. Mind you i did'nt notice the defect until over 12 months.

NOT another piece of scrap cast iron but modified to customer requirements with a MASSIVE 30.0cc chamber volume.
With a head modified to this degree there is always achance of a breakthrough to the water jacket.
As soon as we were aware of the fact we agreed to replace the head at no cost to the SUMP NUT

Why is it so expensive to get a new modified head anyway
It soething that I have always wondered about ...

I mean you can get a comlpete engine for peanuts with a head already on ... So why does it cost ?400 + to get a reconditioned one ..

AM I missing something ?

I would love to get a modified head to lower my compression but it just seems so madly expensive

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

MED,

I do agree and see that its good customer service that you replaced it quickly and without fuss.

The only thing is when your paying a lot of money for something you expect a good inspection service.

I know members of this board have received heads from you that had visible holes in.

As i said they, fair play for making sure the customer got sorted, my comments are not meant to slate you, mearly to try help you out so you see things from the customer prospective *smiley*

looks like this site has some serious pulling power , if companies are prepared to come on and talk to the customers , all we need know is ian, simon and stuart to come and join us .
Then we could have a rolling road "head" shootout , i`ll supply the car and the head gaskets if they`ll supply the heads , i`m sure miniworldmag would love to feature that!!!!!!!!!!
