Looked at these myself over here... interesting idea for sure. No more 'mini back' syndrome!

I'm not so sure.

The main reason for looking at lifts again was that I spent most of saturday on the garage floor. First my exhaust and then Mylo's driveshaft oil seals.

I'm getting too old for it.

Trouble is, you could not do any of those jobs with a platform lift.

Good for wheels, brakes, hubs etc and a bit of welding though.

Two post lift would be better but they take up so much room.

how about using an old electric/gas/diesel fork lift truck as a 'one post' type ramp, you can get 6 ft forks and with a bit of ingenuity fab up some extensions, bolt the stacker to the floor and mount the engine/hydraulics etc outside. could prob do it for a few hundred...

This has nothing to do with me but I like these alot. The beauty is that you can take them apart when you are finished so they don't take up lots of space on the floor.

Well, the very nice people at Hamer Car Lifts will do a special mini size lift that will fit in my barn for the same price as the standard.

Just need to chase up the builders to get the double doors fitted first.
