As the title, its one of the mods I want to do on my car, which will mainly be used for road and track.

Im curious about the sliding front windows? How do they fit? Do they rivet to the outside of the door? If anyone running these could explain or has any pics it would be great!!

If youre not sure what im on about i mean the polycarb windows on the doors of my mates old car like this:

Also, as i said they will be on a road car, and living near portsmouth theres pikey scrotes looking to break into anything.... are the sliding square windows easy to open from the outside??

Cheers*Yes*

first of all that clubby is gorgeous!

second i am going to be doing the same thing so would love to know!

EDIT: it looks to me like they sit in the oringinal sliders. but seeing as i am going to be using fiberglass doors i might need to find some other way to do this! as for locking then im sure that you could fit some sort of catch to the inside of them so as that the cant simply be slid open from the outside?

I got mine from:

http://www.plastics4performance.co.uk/

and they fit just like MK1 windows, I don't have any pics I'm afraid as they are currently up in the loft as I supposed to be getting the shell blasted shortly.

Thanks for the links!

Rob no worries about the pics - could you explain how mk1 windows fit as ive not come across them before. Do you wind the window up and sit the poly window onto the rail that the normal glass would sit on, then take off the handle?

Oh and how much did you pay for your set as that site doesnt have prices. Probably just looking to get the door windows at the mo then the rest at a later date.

Heres another pic mini_majic, nice isnt it:

Yep got the pm si Thanks, ive seen them before but decided to mail him to see what they do.

Would be nice with the coating on but am favouring the smoked ones at the mo? In theory it should only be the front screen that wants the coating for wipers etc as the sides shouldnt get that much abuse. Anyone any comments or experiance with them?

Allan, am sure they do 15% discount for the mini7 lads so am sure if there was a few of us?
Id be wanting the large ones as id be riveting them in without a rubber, depends if theyd do a deal if they were all the same.

Had mine from ACW Motorsport Plastics
on ebay £159 for a full set including the sliders.

The door one's fit into the seals and a few small self tappers under the internal bottom trim hold them up

im up for a group buy. i need to get weight down in a big way if im going to beat 14 seconds.

acw don't seem to have any locks however the main window has 4 holes in it. with a slider that is on the inside.

if you have the 4 holes you may end up with choccy papers in your car but they arnt going to be able to get their hands inside to the locks.

Thats true, 4 holes sounds like the way to go!

I was less worried about choclate rappers and more concerned about dog turds and matches (im from near portsmouth).

Thats if they can even manage to get the slider open what with a bigger square hole being harder to get round.

Just had a thought, if you drive to wales in it youll have to get out the car to give the toll person the money haha

*Idea*
