I got my Dad to give me a hand to bleed the brakes on the British Open last night, and after an half an hour of trying we couldn't get any fluid to come out of any of the bleed nipples. Just before I gave up in despair I noticed the throttle linkage moving out of the corner of my eye, turned out that he'd been pumping the accelerator instead of the brake all along.

Is your dad in anyway mechanically challenged?
Like mine.
He's had a driving license for 40 years and he still had to ask which one was the brake pedal*happy* He drives an automatic though

Warning:Stig in Training

I had the same with my misses a few years ago, she was pumping away at the clutch while I was getting more and more stressed.

Last time I needed somehelp with this I enrolled my 6 year old little brother. He thought it was great fun, and once showed which pedal to press responded to the old "up-down-up-down" faultlessly!

I reverted to using the old Jack handle against the seat method. Takes longer but much more reliable.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.
