Today driving my mini it was running really rich, the lambda guage showed fully red all the way, i checked all the pipes and choke and it all was fine.

Then when i went over a hump back bridge (quite fast!), everything went back to normal, could it be something in the carb sticking?

could it be a lose wire or your fuel pipes were to big and now youve squised them to normal size lol

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

Could just be that you had some muck under the float needle valve and the leap over the bridge shifted it.

Don't take the carb off if it's alright now.

ok, ive never really dismantled a turbo one properly, i was wondering if anything was under the plate underneath. Ill take off the dash pot and check its all clear under there.

Thank you

Near Lincoln

its really not worth taking anything off to check for a problem thats not there...

could be a random washer floating about in the engine? *wink*

dont be to worried about taking the carb apart if you have to, is practicly the same as the standard HIF44 just advisable to use new seals

im having some over fueling issues right now, seems very sudden,
ive tried leaning it out a touch from a previously fine setup on the carb, and still im ending up with majorly black dry plugs, so i whip them out clean them, then i put them back in for a few min's running and im now left with wet fuel soaked plugs and it start's to sound like it a flat-6!,
so i was cruising at 50mph an hour ago, and(this was after id just cleaned the plugs again) then after about 10-15 mins it start's to run shitty again and manage to limp it home,
what i did note was when i ''let off'' the throttle it seems to run fine for a little while after, all i can imagine this is doing is sucking out all the excese fuel?
so having less to burn when i go back on the power, thus making it smooth for a few seconds,

now, where is my first port of call?
im thinking the valve is not seating in the seat and therefore not making a seal?

il lean it all the way back off to the point where the pickup tube is flush with the carb internal then go from there,

any thoughts or idea's would really be helpfull,
thanks

Its a weird phenomenon. My brakes were terrible one day until i spun out at a track day. Then they were fantastic on the drive home.

tossers..lol

il try and find one,

lean off pipe is blocked and in good condition,
i just thought there maybe a blockage in the return line not allowing the fuel to return back to the tank,
il whip off the dash pot and turn the pump on and see if squirts me in the eye from the tube..

stowmaket suffolk

simple test is to take off dash pot and turn on fuel pump if fuel is being pumped up through the main jet then the float needle is not seating properly or like me the float needs changing because it had fuel init, this is the first place to check

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas
