hello all. a little hepl would be great as i am very stuck.
ok so i am running a 1310cc metro turbo and boosting 10psi, i posted a topic not so long back about the engine smoking and oiling up on piston number 3, since then i have had the compression cheacked and all was ok so the head came off and i found loads of problems witch are now sorted ie valve guides were worn and valves were not seating properly. the head has been to the engine centre and sorted plus while it was there i had it converted to run unleaded petrol. the engine was then put back together at my local garage but when run it was very poor. i found this to be a bloked fuel filter in the petrol tank. the car was then running fine for one day but then again started smoking out the back and slowly loosing its power the more i drove it and when iyts on boost it sounds like its loosing air somewere but i have cheacked for leaks and all seems ok. then this morning the car started but seemed to very slowly die down and stop. it did this three times and now it wont start. the plugs are soaked in fuel so it seems to be over fueling so was going to take it for a rolling road if i can get it to start. any ideas on were or what to look at next would be great.

timing slipped?

choke may well be connected (which also shows it may be over rich if it starts from cold well) but it doesnt mean it hasnt moved.

the rubber seals can break down and start leaking, basically not making any difference where the lever is, the carb will still think the choke is on *smiley*

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

if the timing has not been touched then that should be ok

if you have not adjusted the mixture

i would go for a sticking float bowl valve in the carb a common fault ........ new one are avalable from avonbar

if you have diddled with the mixture put it back where it was
go through this first and get back to us
