well
I am about to change my actuator
It all looks like it makes sense to me ;
When the actuator is on ; HOW do i set the pre load ??
Is it a case of turning the spindle in the actuator and setting the the lock nut at some predetermined postion

your 'in the dark'

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

its easy enough mate. have the arm off and the wastegate shut. Now screw the arm in or out till the hole in the end is 6mm short of going on the wastegate. This is called the "pre-load". some people run with a lot less but it does me.
Then just pop it on *smiley*

My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

Lake District

You shouldn't need to cut it, i didn't have to with my Avonbar actuator. It will screw quite far into the other half.

Sorry for digging up and old topic, but i'm having some trouble and this topic seemed appropiate.

I've got a GT1752 and i've clocked the compressor housing.

How do i go about making a new bracket for the actuator to mount on so the pre-load is correct?

Depends how far you have clocked it I suppose, but I made a flat plate of quarter ally attached to the original actuator points shaped a bit like the bracket on a towbar to hold the lighting socket.
Have a look on Roberts thread on GT1752 to see how he did it.

I've seen roberts, but yours sounds much more simple *happy*

Am i right in saying that if the pre-load has already been set, then all i need to do is make sure the actuator just about hooks onto the bracket and i shouldn't have any issues?

Do you have any pics of your tadge as i've never seen a towbar upclose :$
