..... It's going to get quicker

Seriously, I got home from work yesterday, and the wife had dragged it out of the garage, washed it, put in fresh fuel, cranked it over to build up the oil pressure, then fired it up and had it burbling and rattling away on the drive as i pulled in...


So, went out for a spin - and also bought it to work today....
I've got the bug again. Big time.

It is surprising to cast a critical eye over the whole vehicle - the paint is bubbling in a lot of places now - even though it has only seen rain once in the past 18 months. clutch is slipping worse than ever, and the fuelling is shockingly bad all over the place.

Having seen the suspected damage caused by the megasquirt trials on Pauls engine, I'm tempted to put in a spare 1275 i still have, rather than risk my own engine as well. That'll allow me plenty of time to fit the quaife and other stuff too.

Hopefully we'll get some pics to follow!

That's some wife you've got there.

I think my engine died because a) it had done a high mileage before I started using it and b) repeated runs up to 6000rpm plus doing the trials finished it off. Ultimately the pistons started to disintegrate causing a partial seizure.

I do not consider that the Megasquirt killed it. I hope not as my sparkly 998 turbo is now about to take up the role.
