As iain say you need to start with a lower CR than 10:1...

Speeking from experience 8.5 cr is a good one to go for, room for more than standard boost and nice off boost drivability.

So, new pistons as must. I might just build up a new engine in the UK and ship it over next summer... could be fun!

New pistons arent a must at all. There are std mini/metro 1275 engines that run a lot lower CR. cant remember which ones, HLE springs to mind but not sure. With an increased chamber that should be fine.
