Hi guys. New to this forum, Ive been buying parts ready to do the conversion but i have a few questions. Ive not found any info on this yet so i thought i'd ask on here.

1.- When converting the engine over to the BMW head, do you need the original mini cam in the engine as obviously your now running twincam, also do you need the chain drive? As i could sellmine if i dont need them.

2.- If i run an electric water pump can i get rid of the original water pump and block it off?

I only ask as im not hot on this stuff yet. i can do electrics but im still learning engines.

You need to retain the original cam to drive the oil pump, but apart from that it does squat, unless your running a dizzy aswell?

Im running an electric pump as I couldn't keep my original pump due to where my belt ran. You need to blank the pump off but have an inlet stub to put a hose on.
