somewhere

hello,

few questions that i have been pondering over today....

superchargers....

the inlet pipe from the carburettor to the supercharger (eaton bini charger) does the jonspeed pipe fit with the servo in place? went to minispares today and it seems that to relocate the master cylinder to the bulkhead without the servo is going to be expensive and a pita!

cooling...

i shall be running megajolt, hence losing the distributor and gaining that little bit of room, and running the smaller alternator, nippon is it? well with this engine i want the best cooling avaliable. i plan to have an electric fan on a switch. what options are avaliable for the side mounted radiator? what options are avaliable for the front radiator. non mpi roundnose front panel, standard length.

megajolt....

had a search around but havent found any maps for an engine mildly like mine, how do you start? lol.gif how does the program actually work? it seems to be a 3d graph?

also, for forced induction its better to have the MAP set up rather then the TPS?

camshafts...

i need a cam suitable for a supercharged engine but also suitable for driving everyday while i wait for the supercharger to arrive.

at the moment i have a 649 arriving, but i also (obviously) have a morspeed ph3 cam avaliable.

the 649 is just over a 300 degree cam, the ph3 being 270

i was thinking of staying with the 649, ok not the best road cam but would let a fair amount of air in due to its high lift but short duration.

ideas and opinions?

cheers

dan

ditch the 649, the ph3 should be good.

Radiators is all on personal preference really. A supercools 2 core rad works really well and there is plenty of room for an electric fan in the wheel arch. I found my front rad keeps the engine cooler but its also harder to fit an electric fan in and intercooler too! *oh well*

Megajolt is fairly simple with regards to programming. Its basically a spread sheet RPM on one axis Load on the other all you do is fill in an ignition advance value for each RPM/Load. There should be a few maps about to get you started on here though?

You want to use a MAP sensor as this uses manifold pressure as a reference of how much you've got your foot down, TPS works by a potentiometer on the throttle and won't take into consideration boost.
