you will need to fabricate a plenum chamber which covers your filters over the carbs, as far as the exhaust is concerned im sure u can use the turbo manifold as the zaust ports are on the back same as a normal head

Cheers for fixing the pic *smiley*

It's got 4 exhaust ports on the back though.

I've heard a company in Cranbourne (BJ Autobits?) has done an 8 port turbo. Anyone seen it?

Cheers

You might have to change the carbs as well.

Not all carbs are suitable for turbo charging, they normaly have foam filled floats, to stop them collapsing and the spindle has better seals to stop fuel being spread around the engine bay.

You can get 40's suitable for turbo engines, but they ain't gonna be cheap.

Why do i get the feeling Neil is taking the pizz??? *laughing* *laughing* *laughing* *laughing*

Either way - the 151 or 152 series of Webers are suitable for blow-thru, they just need the float bowl pressurising using a float lid with a pipe tig'd into it...

If i had an 8 port, i'd do it properly and inject the thing...

It was sort of a tongue in cheek question, but if it's feasible to do they why not. *happy* I was considering injection anyway to allow me to go back to a standard bonnet.

I've got an article on a turbocharged 8 port racer built in the 60's, but there's not much technical info on what parts were made/adapted for the conversion.

The engine has had one rebuild during which I changed to shorter gearing to improve acceleration. I'm now looking ahead to what I'll do when the next rebuild is due. I've got some info somewhere on supercharging it and I've been mulling over the idea of nos as well...
