I am new to turbo'd a-series so sorry if these questions seem silly.

I have a pretty modified 1275 and was wondering if any of the good bits are worth putting on the turbo, which is standard as far as I know.

1.5 Roller tip rockers (purple ones)
Stage 4 head
Pre-verto lightened clutch with orange diaphragm (i think its orange?)

Are any of them any use on a turbo, or should I sell them to make my bank balance a bit happier after buying all the turbo bits?

Thanks

Tony

should be able to use all that,

If it is an orange diapram it'll probably slip and need swapping to a grey, but its a pretty easy swap.

the stage 4 head will be fine as long as you can get the copression ratio down enough.

1.3 roller tip rockers are probably a bit better suited but the 1.5's will definatly work ok.

Also you'll want to run a mild cam, SW5, 266, std metro (same as a metro turbo), MG metro,

or an avonbar Phase 2 if you want a stormer.

gearbox wise really you need a minispares cross pin diff, and above around 120 hp SC drops.

Why not just flog the n/a engine as a running motor and spend the money on the turbo motor

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

If it was a running na engine i'd be using it lol, something went pop inside it after spending ages rebuilding it, so I decided to just go down the turbo route and bought a motor, was just wondering if any parts would do.

Thats good news that I can use them all, but think I will leave them off it for now as I want to have a semi reliable runner until I get it across to Oz, then i'll have a go at upping the performance.

Thanks for your info.
