Hello all,

Does anyone know if the drive on the turbo type oil pump matches the 998 engine(A+) standard oil pump drive?

Many thanks,
Carl.

Well the drive shape its self does, but fitting a turbo pump (or any large bore pump) is not a simple matter.

Specifically, the turbo pump has a different fitting to the 998 pump, so you either need to drill and tap the block or put an extra hole in the pump (not so easy).

Also the drive peg on the large bore pump is around 10mm longer (to makeup for the longer block), so you either need to space the pump back using a spacer, or change the drive pin.

I personally have never used a larg bore pump on any of my 998 turbos. the road 998T has the original pump it came with in it still. And the TT uses the highest capacity 998 pump I could find (Morspeed suppied it).

Silly as it sounds, can you just cut or grind the difference off the drive?

No, the backplate is a different casting as well. This might be ground off as well though come to think of it.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.
