hi, i have a gearbox with A SM 22G1128 MOWOG on it. any idea what model of mini this gearbox came from?many thanks |

It was used accross the board. Could be an S. Count the teeth on the 1st motion shaft. If there are 17 its normal box, if there are 18 its an S box. 1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

Check for a number stamped on the lay gear, 22G1040 is a S laygear. 22G927 (i think) would be a standard box. "So wat we gonna do tonight Brain?"

The casing is not S, it's just a regular 4sync one. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:

The casing is not S, it's just a regular 4sync one. If my memory serves me right, in 1968 all gearboxes including the S changed to 4 sync. all boxes were same casting (22g1128) they could be had in remote and pre A+ rod. It's not the age that makes me creak it's the mileage |
