hi, i have a gearbox with A SM 22G1128 MOWOG on it. any idea what model of mini this gearbox came from?many thanks

It was used accross the board. Could be an S. Count the teeth on the 1st motion shaft. If there are 17 its normal box, if there are 18 its an S box.

1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

Check for a number stamped on the lay gear, 22G1040 is a S laygear. 22G927 (i think) would be a standard box.

The casing is not S, it's just a regular 4sync one.

If my memory serves me right, in 1968 all gearboxes including the S changed to 4 sync. all boxes were same casting (22g1128) they could be had in remote and pre A+ rod.
