Does anyone have any? Or any tricks to get them extracted without too much grief? The split pins are easy and the clutch one is out, just the brake clevis to go and it is not moving an inch. It was only taken out 5 years ago but I think some brake fluid got down there and rusted it on. What do I do?

It's OK peoples, I somehow managed to purswade it out by poking a screwdriver through the hole in the bulkhead when I lifted up the mastercylinder. Now to put it all back again! Yay! On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

Last time I stuck the clevis on a long screwdriver with blu tac and slipped it in. Thats the plan this time but I have got distracted by shiny sunnyness. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

Guaranteed hours of fun ![]() Like Hell it is. I've spent all day putting in the brakes/clutch pedal box, master cylinders and making new pipes. Worst job was the clevis pins. Trick is to hold the pin with two fingers, get it in place, remove a finger so the you can wiggle it in place with the other, whilst wobbling the pedal with the other hand. Then you have the fun with the split pin. I turned the clevis pins so that the hole was horizontal and then put the split pin in with needle nose pliers. Hours of grunting, sweating and blaspheming. thr trick is to hold the p[in in the jaws of a small pair of snipe nose mole grips, hold it around the shoulder so the pin is at 90 dgs to the grips, it makes locating the pin piss easy,no need to struggle trying to get fat fingered hands in the tiny space,

With the exception of the ones on the CV joint's I've replaced all my split pins with R clips, it makes life a lot quicker and easier and if you want to be really flash you can buy coloured R clips for a model shop.
