leeds/wakefield.

finally bug the car pout to clean it for next weekend, and having a nagging doubt in the back of my mind the clutches were not all well, i investigated, basically it seamed either i had lost about 80% of my strength o r the pedal, seemed very stiff, although it really is a tough old thing to depress it seamed that i could feel no over centre action through the pedal, even when i isolated each cluth at a time the remaining arm still hardly had any movement, it seamed like the pedal was either bending badly resulting in no movement of fluid or had taken a permanent set as it was sitting lower than the brake pdeal and previously both sat level,

checked both arms were not seized, all was well there, so had a look at the pedal assembly, and found this.

the pedal box has collapsed with all the foot pressure exereted over time, only on thre cluth side, as you would expect.

i'll gusset it up next week with extra plate in the effected areas,

pleased i found something so obvious, lol.

hmmmm,

thats not good!

is this due to the pedal beeing twice as heavy due to the 2 clutches?

Glad you've found something carl, I said when I tried the pedal at MITP that it didn't feel quite right....

Tom, your getting lost over time, i sorted that iffy pedal out at MITP, this was something else, but i just do not know how its happened, the last time i drove it i had a clutch, today it was useless.

anyway ,its all back together now with strengthened pedal box, and the pedal feel just perfect,,

ready for a bashing nest weekend,
