Im looking at buying some Corbeau seats but not sure whether to buy the fixed subframes or not? If I mount the seat behind the cross member im not sure if ill reach the pedals *laughing*, if this is the case i'll probably just make my own subby as the standard ones won't work?

Any one know the minimum leg length you can get away with, with mounting the seat behind the cross member?

Cheers
Matt

Hmm you might be a little short then kid. Im 5.11 maybe slightly taller and my seats i bolted to the floor of the car behind the tunnel and its just nice for me, and my pedal box has been mounted further back (toward the rear of the car).

Best thing to do is stick the seat in ontop of something (like a plastic box) and see how ya go.

Cheers

Mike

Im 5'10 i think. Got my corbeau mounted on the subframe behind the box section. I find it quite comfortable.

Horndean - Near Portsmouth

Im 6ft 1" and have the seat mounted about and inch behind the crossmember .

Theyre cobra imola "s" ones on sidemounts on the lowest setting, me chins about the top of the steering wheel in height.

Tbh it feels a little bit of a stretch but im used to driving smaller cars where im hunched up. I reckon you would be fine if you mounted it on sidemounts up against the crossmember!

hello
I have cobra monicos and what I did was welded a piece on 2 by 1 box section from cill to cill touching the back bins flush with the front box section, then weld 4 pieces from front box section to the rear section the width of the seat keeping everthink off the floor and low for weight distribution
hope this helps

Warwick.

I have extra mounting points onto my rollcage cross overs, it lifts the normal side mount things up high enough so u can mount to the boxsection (using rivnuts attached to the box section) also my side mounts have multiple drillings through on the bottom so even if u only have 1 holes in the box section and rear support u can still move them forward or back for adjustment

Get FIA approved ones. Better and undeniably stronger.
