Hello, I am looking for some new speakers to be used initially for my wedding and then for house party's etc.

My current setup is ok, but looking to add to it with some better kit to it. My Wedding is going to be in a room big enough for 350 people so a big space to fill with noice.

My Amp is 600w RMS (or could be 900w rms not 100% sure)

In the past I've got most of my lights etc from www.terralec.co.uk is there anywhere cheaper??

Can anyone here give me some advice?

I'd say rent some for the wedding. i have worked with loads of pa systems and the best way to get a headache ( sound wise) is to use a relatively small system for fill a large space. you need some serious bass system. that way you can make it loud without it biting your head off.

but good pa is expensive (we regularly carried 20kw of amps and >75K worth of stuff around and that was a small system about a truck full of stuff)

that said the DAP stuff is reasonable and Behringer do some that is huge value.

That sir, is not rust, it is the progressive mass reduction system

The thing is, I know I'm going to use it again in the future. I was looking at DAP stuff.

may be ideal, and use my current amp with my current speakers

that'll work( price is rather good i must say). just remember that you can just about never have too much poweramp wise.

oh if at all possible set the speakers up near a wall, near a corner (but not full in the corner). that will give quite a bit of extra free boost

Used a P900 once, were canny

Funnily enough I get married on saturday. Im doing my own night time do DJ'ing lol. Just using PA system from the school I work at, BUT ive built my own lighting rig for £50.

Bought T Bar and 4 Channel Chaser from Maplins then 4x500watt Halogen security lights from B&Q. Stuck GELS on them and they look and work really good and bulbs are £1 compared to PAR costs. Better still there IP44 rated so work outdoors.

Ive been using Virtual DJ on a laptop for some years now. Cracking kit. If you need the bog in-set its handy as well cause the automix matches BPM and is pretty clever.

Still no match to my old Technic 1210's tho lol

I may be able to help you there Jim as thats my line of work, Pa s, live events etc.
Is this a domestic amp your running or a proffessional amp?
I would go for a good Nexo rig if you have a bit of spare cash.

for a Nexo system you need quite a bit of spare cash though.

used to work in a place where we had a banging Nexo sound system, DJ's loved to come there ..100 sqm 10 kw sound

ok slight change of plans, I have been given 4 15" drivers, I'll this fit perfect into my current speaker cabinets. My cabinets are only 2 way, so now all I need is a nice cross over and good horn driver and I should be ok. any recomendations on what would work well with these speakers

Nominal impedance: 8 Ohms
Sensibility 1W/1M: 98 dB
Frequency range: 40~3.000 Hz
Power rating: 450 W
Program power: 900 W
Voice coil diameter: 101,60 mm - 4 "

stupid question, but if I have a 450w speaker, I assume I need a 450w cross over and tweeter. I'm having dificulty finding crossovers and tweaters about 200w

On my current speaker there is a large resisitor before the tweeter and no crossover, surely this can't be good?
