Hi, is there such a thing? I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to fit solid ones, say aluminium or something, as I am unsure of the deflex ones I have bought, they seem flimsy.

I have had an ongoing dispute with Minisport over a few products being returned and upon opening the pack of deflex quick release engine mounts they appear to be split at the mounting holes, will this be ok to use, or should I complain to them a bit more?

Regards

Tony

if you fit solid steel engine & subframe mounts, be prepared for it to rattle your teeth out

Ps i wouldnt worry about the splits if theyre nuthing much.

There are these but like joey says, prepare some vibration (the missus might like it)

I think what engine steadys you run are more important than your engine mounts as they have way more leverage over your engine.

I agree even tho the deflex ones seem flimsy they do get sandwhich in there pretty tight by the engine. Not unless your engine weighs as much as someone from a louri painting.*tongue*

Think i'll stick with them for now and see hoe they go, as for engine steadies, there is only he standard top one and an one that bolts to the thermostat housing, there are no gearbox mounts and no brackets on the subframe for them either.

Will this be a problem?

Suck it and see but really the engine mounts are a fulcrum and the steadys are in the best place to prevent movement. With that said solid or poly mounts will resist the enevidable oil leak from the crank pulley!

I have used the deflex ones for about 4 years now with slicks and no problems

all three of my minis are solid mounted.

duel purpose though.

you know those pads that vibrate that you can strap to yourself for weight loss, im sure it has the same effect..

altought solid mounted still moved enough to rip the ultimate engine steady out of the bulkhead on one whipping a chav off the lights.
