Hi, is there such a thing? I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to fit solid ones, say aluminium or something, as I am unsure of the deflex ones I have bought, they seem flimsy.

if you fit solid steel engine & subframe mounts, be prepared for it to rattle your teeth out "Turbo's make torque, and torque makes fun"

I think what engine steadys you run are more important than your engine mounts as they have way more leverage over your engine. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

I agree even tho the deflex ones seem flimsy they do get sandwhich in there pretty tight by the engine. Not unless your engine weighs as much as someone from a louri painting. On 13th Jun, 2008 Jay#2 said:

Think i'll stick with them for now and see hoe they go, as for engine steadies, there is only he standard top one and an one that bolts to the thermostat housing, there are no gearbox mounts and no brackets on the subframe for them either.

Suck it and see but really the engine mounts are a fulcrum and the steadys are in the best place to prevent movement. With that said solid or poly mounts will resist the enevidable oil leak from the crank pulley! On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:
