hello
just asking the question are primary gears and drop gears the same thing seen some on ebay but just checking first
is there anything I should look out for ratios etc

the primary gear is one of the transfer/drop gears, its the one that sits on the end of the crank.

just stick with 1:1 ratio on them dude :)

if the primary has 32 the idler has 23 and the first motion has 30 what ratio is that?

sorry if i sound dumb but this is really the first time ive looked at drop gears and the ratio's etc. (and im tired)

you can ignore the middle gear, just divide the primary by the first motion gear...

32/30= 1.066:1

and get this timkin drop gear
